Welcome to Chad Becker's Web Portal (formerly Bad Checker Productions). On this site you will find various forms of media created by Chad Becker. After graduating from Michigan State University in 2008 I found a professional home within the realm of video production and video editing. That was, until 2013, when I left my jobs working for the City of Holland as a Multimedia Specialist, and for Townsquare Media of Grand Rapids as a jack-of-many-small tasks pending my move to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands to see if I could avoid winter and make island life work for me. It's safe to say it did, as I quickly found an opportunity to work the front desk of the beautiful Mafolie Hotel & Restaurant.
After three years working virtually every job on property, building them a new website, and even ending my tenure as General Manager, my wife Jennifer Becker and I decided it was time to return to the states. After returning to our hometown of Grand Rapids Michigan for a spell, we then decided to start another adventure by relocating to Boise Idaho. My plan B, if an obvious video editing job didn't re-materialize, was to get involved in solar. So I did! AltEnergy (now Tiger Solar) hired me on as an installer and after a year+ on rooftops in beautiful Idaho, they somehow convinced me to get back behind a computer screen in their design office. After a year+ of that, I somehow convinced them to open a branch of their company in Grand Rapids, Michigan so my wife and I could return home (where our infant daughter and her grandparents wouldn't be a couple thousand miles apart).
